About Roo Davison

Roo was born in his grandmother’s house in the suburbs of London, England in 1961 and raised on small farms near Guildford, southwest of London.

For as long as he can remember, Roo has been curious about systems and problem-solving. Early days found him wading in the stream in his red Wellington boots, building dams, and discovering the forces at play in his endeavors. When his parents’ marriage broke down and his mother took charge of the farm, it fell to Roo to figure out how to fix the tractor and other machinery.

This interest in “how things work” was later translated into a degree in engineering from the University of Leicester, followed by a master’s degree in computer science from Imperial College, University of London.

After university, Roo lived in London, working as a computer programmer, primarily focused on creating management information systems for British Telecom. Over time he also developed an interest in management training and spent a lot of time in personal development courses. This path eventually took him to America to study with Dr. Richard Moss, a teacher of Radical Aliveness.

Whilst studying with Dr. Moss, Roo met his wife-to-be, Ellie. They trans-Atlantic dated for a couple of years, and then in 1998, Roo navigated the immigration system to move to Atlanta. GA. In 2005 he became a citizen of the United States.

In 2010, Roo and Ellie moved to Frankfort, MI, a small town on the shores of Lake Michigan. For the first three years of their time in Frankfort, they lived in a very small apartment on Main Street while Roo devoted himself to renovating their 1895 Victorian house—a total down-to-the-studs renovation, so that (behind the Victorian trim) it now has all modern systems.

Today, Roo partners with his wife Ellie in their art business which they run out of their home. He plays guitar, practices Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, writes poetry, and kayaks year-round—rain, shine, or snow!
